How to Measure Your Greyhound
Getting the Perfect Fit for Your Custom Dog Coat
To ensure your handmade coat fits perfectly, please take the following measurements using a soft measuring tape. Have your Greyhound stand naturally and relaxed.
Side View Measurements
Have your Greyhound stand sideways in a natural, relaxed position.
Measurement #1: Neck Circumference
Measure around the base of the neck where the collar sits.
Measurement #2: Back Length
Measure from the end of the collar to the beginning of the tail.
Measurement #3: Girth (Belly)
Measure around the widest part of the belly (the fattest part). Add 1 inch to this measurement for comfort and ease of movement.
Front View Measurement
Have your Greyhound stand upright facing forward, as if they want a treat!
Measurement #4: Chest Width
Measure straight across from one front shoulder to the other front shoulder.
Important Tips
- Always use a soft measuring tape, not a rigid ruler
- Measure your dog while they're standing naturally
- For the girth measurement, remember to add 1 inch
